Alan was born May 26,1994 and reared in Minnesota as the youngest of three children. His older brother, Gene, an accomplished dancer himself and co-owner of dance studio, Dance With Us America, began teaching Alan when Alan was only seven years old. At a young age, Alan won several national titles. In May 2013, at age 18, Alan auditioned for the tenth season of “So You Think You Can Dance”. He finished in the top six males just missing the cut for top ten. He was asked to tour with the “So You Think You Can Dance” tour. Immediately thereafter Alan toured the world with the popular dance production “Burn the Floor”. Alan landed a recurring role on Season Six of the hit TV show “Glee” as a member of the New Directions nemesis Vocal Adrenaline.
Alan joined “Dancing with the Stars” in its 20th season as a member of the troupe. Alan replaced injured fellow pro dancers Mark Ballas, Max Chmerkovskiy and Gleb Savchenko several times and was finally promoted to pro in Season 25 and was on the 25th anniversary poster with Sharna Burgess.
Alan won DWTS Junior inaugural season (second episode Season 27) with young role models Sky Brown and JT Church. These two youngsters were rays of sunshine mentored by Alan and their charisma was infectious as were the smiles of all three: Sky, JT and Alan.
In 2018, Alan and good friends and fellow DWTS pros Gleb Savchenko and Artem Chigvintsev started “Day of Dancing” where fans could actually participate in workshops and private lessons. The second year they toured nine cities and the tour is now a fan favorite.
